Matt Spiegel’s singing career began in 2nd grade, when he was a proud, if slightly effeminate, soloist for a recital version of OLIVER, the musical. His mother was an opera singer, and a wonderful voice and drama teacher, so Matt’s earliest chores involved cleaning his room, and breathing diaphragmatically. Everyone in the house sang and played an instrument…it was the law. After years of classical trumpet and choral singing, he and Brian Maurer formed a rock band senior year and began to dominate the Lawrenceville, NJ “hey dude, my parents are out of town” basement party circuit. One time they played CREAM’s Crossroads for like 20 minutes. Matt moved to Chicago in ’92, and with his brother Jon begat BROTHER BROTHER, a 10 piece funk & soul band. BROTHER BROTHER put out 2 studio records, Bring On the Dogs, and Busy Little Id, and still plays for private events, and occasional club dates. In 2002, Matt hatched the idea for Tributosaurus, the beast of multiple musical faces.
Matt has been heard on several TV and Radio jingles, including Empress Casino, Feldco windows, and his personal favorite, Tampax tampons. Matt is living in Los Angeles, working as a sports talk show host on Sporting News Radio (www.sportingnewsradio.com), and preparing L.A. for the arrival of Tributosaurus West.
