Every year, we celebrate Independence Day over at the Fitzgerald's American Music Festival, and this year we have picked a truly iconic American band - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. This is one of our favorite artists to cover - cool grooves, psychedlic overtones, and of course the amazing harmonies. CSNY drew from some of the great bands of their time (Buffalo Springfield, The Hollies, and The Byrds) and formed what is truly a supergroup of American music, influencing not only music, but politics and popular culture.
The Fitzgerald's fest is an Independence Day Institution in Chicago, and it's completely family friendly. What's more we are doing an afternoon set - 3PM to 5PM- so it's a great oppotunity to bring the kids out for some great music and still catch the fireworks that night - or stick around all day and take in all the festival has to offer. Add the great food from Wishbone to the amazing musical lineup, and you have a quintessentially American experience - don't miss it! And if you're out of town on the weekend, don't worry - we'll be reprising the show at Martyrs' on the following Wednesday (July 7th) in a nice long show with a break so you can celebrate with us then.
